Privacy Policy for the Nolivi app
This policy applies to the Android apps Nolivi (package name de.grimaservice.vidsena) and Nolivi Compress (package name de.grimaservice.vidsena.compress). This is a translation. If in doubt, the German version applies.

I have not appointed a data protection officer because there is no legal obligation to do so.
2. Summary
- Recording, editing, export and compression run on your device.
- The apps do not have the internet permission. There is no built-in Nolivi cloud. I have no access to your videos, photos and projects.
- No behavioural tracking, no third-party ad network, no analytics software and no automatic upload of crash reports by the apps.
- Other providers only receive data through Google Play (section 5), when you share files yourself or choose a storage location run by a provider (section 6), or when you email me (section 8).
3. Data the apps process on your device
- Photos and videos you take with the camera and, if you want, sound from the microphone (Nolivi only).
- Photos, videos and music you select yourself.
- Your projects: order, cuts, texts, filters, speed and transitions (Nolivi only).
- Settings such as language, theme and accessibility.
- Technical data that protects an interrupted export or compression, for example checksums and the state of the job.
- Whether you have bought Premium (Nolivi only).
The apps need this data to record, edit, export and compress your videos. The data stays in the app on your device. To the extent that this involves processing by me, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (providing the app you use). Access to the camera, microphone and files is strictly necessary for the function you request (Section 25(2) no. 2 of the German TDDDG).
4. Permissions
Nolivi
- Camera: take photos and videos.
- Microphone: sound for video recordings. You can also record without sound.
- Foreground service for media processing and keeping the device awake: export and compression keep running visibly and do not stop when the screen turns off.
- Notifications (Android 13 and later): show the progress of export and compression.
- Google Play Billing: for the Premium purchase.
Nolivi Compress
- Foreground service for media processing, keeping the device awake and notifications, for the same reasons as above.
- No camera, no microphone and no purchases.
Neither app has the internet permission or uses an advertising ID. Android cloud backup and automatic transfer to a new device are turned off for the app data.
5. Google Play
You download the apps from Google Play. Downloads, updates, ratings and purchases run through the Google Play app. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google processes data as an independent controller under the Google Privacy Policy and may also process it in the USA. According to Google, its parent company Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
- Premium (Nolivi only): Premium is a one-time in-app purchase through Google Play, not a subscription. Google handles the price, payment, your Google account and refunds. Nolivi asks the Google Play app whether a purchase exists. I do not see your payment details. For each purchase, Google provides me with order data: order number, product, price, date and country, sometimes also state, city and postcode. If you contact me about an order, I can find it by its order number or your email address. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR and, for keeping records, Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR in conjunction with Section 147 of the German Fiscal Code (AO).
- Updates and ratings (Nolivi only): Nolivi can check through the Google Play app whether an update is available and, after successful exports, ask you for a rating using the Google Play rating window. Whether you rate the app is up to you.
- Statistics: In the Play Console, Google provides me with aggregated statistics, for example install numbers. If you have allowed your device to send usage and diagnostics data to Google in your Android settings, I can also see technical crash reports there. Google collects this data, not the app.
6. Saving, sharing and backups
- Gallery: If you want, the apps save finished videos and compressed copies to your device's gallery.
- Storage location you choose: You can choose a storage location with the Android file picker. If it belongs to a cloud provider, that provider's app may upload the file according to its own settings. The provider's terms then apply.
- Protection folder (Nolivi only, optional): If you choose a protection folder, Nolivi stores copies of selected media there that remain after uninstalling. The provider of that folder may sync these files too.
- Backup (Nolivi only, optional): A backup of your projects and media is an unencrypted ZIP file in a location you choose. Please keep it safe.
- Sharing: If you pass on a video or photo through the Android share menu, the app you choose processes it under its own rules.
You start these transfers yourself. I do not receive any data from them.
7. Compressing videos and photos
- The selected original is not overwritten, replaced or deleted. The app creates a new copy.
- JPEG photos (Nolivi only): certain capture data is kept in the copy. Location data is removed by default and only kept if you explicitly choose this for that photo. A copy you share or store elsewhere contains the data that was kept.
- After a successful compression, Nolivi Compress shows a note about the Nolivi app. Only when you tap it does Android open Nolivi or Google Play. The note does not transmit any analytics or media data.
8. If you email me
If you email me about the apps, for example with a question, a bug report or a screenshot, I process your message as described in sections 4 and 7 of the website privacy policy (in German). This includes AI software reading my incoming email. Please do not send me videos or photos that show other people.
9. Retention and deletion
App data stays on your device until you delete it in the app, clear the app data in the Android settings or uninstall the app. Copies in the gallery, backups, protection folders and files in other locations remain afterwards. You delete those there yourself. I keep order data for as long as tax law requires.
10. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). A message to max.scheglov.kibuero@gmail.com is enough. I have no access to the data in the app. You can view and delete it in the app yourself.
Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): Where I process data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you can object at any time.
You can lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for me is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen, Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany, www.ldi.nrw.de.
11. Changes
If an app starts processing other data, I will update this policy beforehand.
